Level 1: The law of Amnesia

Memory Barrier

Last modified on 12/03/2010, 02:31 PM

How many lost worlds lie deep in the forest, deep in the sand, deep in the sea?

Who are we? Where do we come from? Eternal questions ... Knowing it may help us to know where to go. Our forgotten history can enlighten us about our true nature, forgotten too.

Human brain showing active areas when the memory is working

We are told a lot of nonsenses, sometimes we admit that crap, refusing to see the light that kept on shining deep inside of us. Why did we forgot our true nature? That's what we'll see in this first level. Just click + or > Above all, how can we get it back? This will be the fifth level. If you're concerned, click here

Pierre Dac, French actor and humorist, came from home in 1893 and went back there in 1975. Where do we come from? Where are we going to?
This I can tell you.
I'm coming from home, where I'm going back.

Pierre Dac

Ape's Cousin?

Artists shamans who have painted those caves were Sons of Gods, not sons of apes. European bison's head, Altamira's Cave, Spain. Our race is amnesic. Our past get a skyline beyond which the Unknown starts. This skyline is the horizon of History, and it starts around 900 before JC. Please note JC may be written Jesus ChristSee The Unknown Jesus or Julius Caesar,See The Roman Year since they are almost contemporary. Before that line? Savages, cut stone and cave paintings, no interest. Except for paleo-anthropologists. Before that? Apes, according to the same anthropologists. They consider man as an ape's cousin,No way ! Read After Darwin  a hominidae of Homo sapiens sapiensMan who knows that he knows. Read Homo sapiens sapiens type.

May be Darwin put evolution upside down ?In a desperate try to do the link between Ape and Man,It is The Theory of Evolution, discredited these days. Read After Darwin they found ancestors for us, Homo erectus, Homo faber and a few other ape-like creatures. But despite their combined effortsAnd cheating! See Science in Danger for more than a century, this link has never been made. The missing link is still missing. Nevertheless, paleo-anthropologists found new cousins for us, Neandertaliens. They are supposed to have disappeared,See The End of Orcs which is doubtful when we look at Yetis and Sasquatch. This small world is full of surprises indeed.

Easter Island by Chris Foss. Quite refreshing. We have a short memory. The past, for most of us, is nostalgia of lost innocence. What a joke ! We are still innocentSee How Old Are We ? comparing with our forgot ancestors ! They were giants in their bodies,See L'empreinte des géants in their headsLisez Le mythe d'Atlas and in their hearts.See Barefoot on Sacred Earth But today's scientists and historians packed all these craps in a locker called "Myths". And it means bull shit. As far as they're concerned, mythologies are meaningless delirium. Myths are actually the most precious recordsSee History Before History of the lost ages.

Beware of Reason

Déjà vu, by MoebiusIn our heads, the vague memories of school books are mixed up with images from films and comics. They're tomorrow's fairy tales! Read L'or pur des contes All of this constitutes our history. And what a history: a gallery of often wrongThose who believe Moyen-Age was a dark period would be interested to read Cathedrals portraits, without any chronology nor general vision. A litany of battles that all look the same, except for the date. Dates! Obsessive fear for the dunce and the visionary! And there's a good reason to this fear. If man is a reasonable animal, excess of reason kills reason.See Rene Descartes

Our way of life betrays the human natureSee A petit feu and our right brain hemisphere, unused, is almost atrophied. The key of our lost powersSee this page  disappears with it. We must hurry and react. The happiness is not to have a lot of things. We don't need them all. Let's empty the medicine cabinet, full of out-of-date medicine, of rarely adapted tablets and pills, and yet used every day for automedication. We should better drink a glass of Côtes-du-Rhône, a healthier way to cure all diseases. With a little help of our inner healer!

For the ancient Greeks, time is cyclical, it comes back, except taxis when needed.

We all see the time like a linear thing: past- present- future. Future is unknown, present too fast past, and past is too fast forgotten. And to illustrate it, to fit with this conception of time, we created a new science, history. Things were quite different in the antic days. Ancient Greeks believed in cyclic time, where events form identically repeating sequences, in an order as invariable as the season cycle. And to illustrate it, they inherited of an ancient wisdom, the myths.See Le testament des dieux

The Greek frieze, symbol of the march of the ages

They symbolized that by a frieze, perhaps the most famous one in the antic world, the greek frieze. It's called greek, but we find it worldwide. In this frieze, the same figures are repeating, invariable, up and down, as a movement, a progressing or decliningSee La théorie du déclin motion, in a chain that nothing can stop.

Saving Data

Rome's Looting (detail) by Sylvestre, 1890Ninety percent of Greeks' and Romans' philosophy, literature, art and science did not survive to the Roman Empire's collapse. « The works of several poets and philosophers from Antiquity have totally disappeared, or still stay in disorderly quotes of other authors. It had been worse for other aspects of culture; thus, we totally ignore music that played the Jericho trumpets, except that it was in F sharp; concerning the rich musical legacy from antique Rome, all that remains is one passage of a unique melody,This melody was performed by Gregorio Paniagua, Musique de la Grèce antique, Harmonia Mundi 1979 which is less than 25 seconds long. » (source)J.M. The ancient Mayan crystal skulls would they, as some have suggested, CD-ROM of prehistory?« The inheritance of our civilization risks to know the same erasing if our industrial society collapses. The loss will be even more complete, as we accumulate our knowing in forms that could have been created just to be unreachable to future generations. Our books use a very acid paper, that decomposes in about a hundred years, compared to medieval parchment, or to the little acid paper used until the 19th century. And the recent habit to stock datas on digital support is far more dangerous for informations.

Vanitas vanitatum et omnia vanitas, the Ecclesiast says
"Vanity of vanities, all is vanity. What advantage does the man get from all his hard work under the sun? A generation goes, another one comes, and the Earth still exists.See Pieds nus  What has been will be. What has been done, will be done again. If we can say about a thing "This is a new thing",See Merlin that thing already existedSee Le mythe d'Atlantide in the former centuries. So said Ecclesiastes, book of the son of David, king of Jerusalem.
